Summary:

Internet has become a primary source of health information nowadays, particularly among adolescents and young adults.However, the biased, inaccurate, and substandard health content available in the internet can potentially mislead the users. Despite a significant influence of internet and social media content on adolescents’ daily lives, very little information exists regarding their digital health literacy. Hence, the present study aims to evaluate the digital health literacy levels and factors associated with it among adolescents of Bangladesh.

This will be a multi-center cross-sectional study conducted in the Adolescent Friendly Health Corners (AFHCs) in selected government health facilities in Bangladesh from August 2023 to January 2024. A total of 430 adolescents aged between 13 and 19 years (43 from each AFHC) will be included in the present study. A semi-structured questionnaire consisting of sociodemographic and internet use information, and eHealth literacy scale (eHEALS) will be used for data collection. SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) version-25.0 and Microsoft Excel will be utilized for management and analysis of the data. Multiple regression analysis will be used to identify the factors contributing to the adolescents’ digital health literacy. Statistical significance will be defined as p < 0.05.
